Summary  :

Charlie Chaplin arrived in studios in December,1913. From his debut in Hollywood, he irritated the professionals, used to the style of farce made in those days. Over-sophisticated in his characters, the delicacy of his work, and his mastered funny face; he slowed the speed of production of the Keystone films that were typically finished in a few hours. Frustrated by the suppression of the montage of his best acts, Chaplin decided to become Charlie the vagabond and to completely rework his comedy around a new character and silhouette that he revealed in Charlie is happy with himself (1914), the second film in which he acts. From this first appearance, the public was enamored and orders for distributors flooded in. Unhappy with the work of the directors, Chaplin took control of the direction and making of his films from June 1914 until the end of his life.
