The French Clément Adler coined the term “avion” (the French word for air plane), at the end of the 19th Century. But it was the Wright brothers, from Dayton Ohio, who achieved the feat of having a piloted machine heavier than air, take off, on December 17th, 1903.
As a celebration of aviation’s centennial (1903-2003), LOBSTER FILMS, in association with INA Entreprise, composed a saga carried by extraordinary people, men and women of touching courage and beauty.
The colorizing of this never seen before archival footage from the LOBSTER FILMS collection, gives a new dimension to these long gone moments. Amelia Earhart’s soft smile, Mermoz’s charm, Lindbergh’s juvenile appearance, and all the small details part of a greater Historical picture, are here present, in their intact original form.
A century of inventions, daring ideas, battles and human achievements are narrated by Bernard Girodeau’s moving voice.
This commemoration livens a century of extraordinary adventures and pays tribute to all the pioneers of a wild dream: to fly.
